Course Outline

Emergent Formations

Emergent behavior in the formation of architectonic entities.
The main aim of this course is the exploration of geological systems as a design strategy for architecture design. Instead of using tools of composition we will use tools of behaviour in order to scrutinize the self organization of entities within an architectonic scheme. Thus creating patterns of materialization, densification and voids in correlation with the topography of the site and the various constraints applied to the structure. Read the entire outline here

PABONE1.1 pavilion

PABONE pavilion

Looking the abstract machine, I found similarities between the plaster drops and stalagmites. At this point the word that best referes this idea is folding.
The PABONE pavilion is a connection between landscape, people and city.
The phormologyc structure looks like a big bone with slippery spots that function as corridors.
